San Diego Breast Lift
Every human being wants to look attractive. One of such feature and appearance which causes concern in women relates to Breast. But some of them may suffer from many problems such as sagging of breasts, large breasts which results in severe back pain and pain in hips, some breast related diseases such as cancer or even abscess, breasts of odd shape, etc. The various treatments that can be given to patients suffering from such problems include Breast Augmentation, Breast Implants, Breast Reduction, and Breast Revision.
After pregnancy, women suffer sagging of breasts due to nursing. Sometimes breasts sag even due to gravity. The breasts tend to lose their shape due to elasticity and hence begin to sag. To reshape such sagging breasts a surgical procedure called "Mastopexy" or breast lift is performed. Through this raising and reshaping of breasts is possible. The breast lift or "Mastopexy" treatment also can reduce the size of areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple.
If in case one's breasts are small or have lost volume say for instance after pregnancy, inserting breast implants in conjunction with "Mastopexy" can increase both firmness and the breast size.
It is adviced to postpone the breast lifting treatment if one is planning for future pregnancies as pregnancy will stretch the breasts again. However, breast lift or "Mastopexy" will not affect breast-feeding. Unevenly positioned nipples or a permanent loss of feeling in nipples or breasts can be the results of breast lift procedure.
An incision outlining the area, breast skin will be removed and a new location for the nipple will be defined. By removing the excess skin, the nipple and areola are moved to the higher position. The skin surrounding the areola is then brought together to reshape the breast. Stitches are usually located around the areola, in a vertical line extending downwards from the nipple area, and along the lower crease of the breast. Those women with relatively small breasts and minimal sagging require less extensive incisions. For them, a procedure called "Doughnut Mastopexy" can be performed where circular incisions are made around the areola, and a doughnut shaped area of skin is removed.
